Balai Dahilayan
A bespoke booking platform built for Balai Dahilayan, a local resort in Bukidnon. The system replaces their third-party dependency with a custom guest-facing website and a purpose-built admin dashboard — giving the business full control over reservations, availability, and reporting.
Background
Balai Dahilayan was relying on Cloudbeds to manage their bookings, but it was never the right fit. The platform was too expensive for their scale, bloated with features they never used, and confusing enough that staff struggled with day-to-day operations. On top of that, they had no dedicated landing page or web presence of their own — guests had nowhere to go. I found them through cold outreach on Facebook after locating them on Google Maps, pitched a custom solution built specifically around how they actually work, and they said yes.
Challenge
The core technical challenge was building a reliable availability and calendar system that prevents double bookings across multiple room types — with month, 14-day, and 7-day views for staff to manage at a glance. Beyond the calendar logic, the broader design challenge was replacing a feature-heavy SaaS tool with something far simpler without losing the operational coverage they actually needed: reservations, availability, reporting, and activity logs all in one place.
Goal
To give Balai Dahilayan a system that fits them — not a generic tool they have to work around. The goal was a clean guest-facing site that drives direct bookings, paired with a straightforward admin dashboard their staff can actually use. After launch, they moved off Cloudbeds entirely, bookings started coming in through the new site, and the team found day-to-day management noticeably easier.
